Sayonara Webskills E-Teacher Course!!!

Namaste, Dear All

As I mentioned before, I have enjoyed and applied many of the technologies offered every Monday for last 10 weeks, I have revealed my favorite and challenging technologies herein.

Though every resource suggested in this course is useful, I find "Technology and Multiple Intelligences" is most useful one.

Talking about the tools, I will use 'blog' as it is simple but more effective.

May be LoTi is not cup of my tea since I hardly can create such survey with my students.

Wish you only the best!

Sindhu's Off the Ninth Week

Namaste!!!

Happy that there is less assignment this week! Also very much jubilant as I could learn from my partners how final projects should be shaped.

This week what strike me the most is Multiple Intelligence that our learners are capable in different aspects, seeing and hearing, reflecting and acting, reasoning logically and intuitively, analyzing and visualizing, steadily and in fits and starts. Unlike the traditional practices, they should not be assessed on a particular parameter only. Therefore there is dire need of introducing technology that will evaluate a class according to multiple intelligence.

Hope to read your own reflections as always!!!

Best, Sindhu.

Hello Everyone
I thought week 8 could be easier, but it became more challenging. Besides browsing and finding more technologies, we have to post two reflections in additions to blog and partner’s project review.
Mistakenly I had posted only the contents of our project as I thought it was a collaborative work. But I came to know that it was individual, and we are going to gauge our friend’s work on the basis of checklist provided.
Fortunately, I enjoyed ANVILL and other tools a lot!
Above all, our guest moderator, Jeff Magoto’s introduction to ANVILL was really a wonderful online tool that we can use with our learners!!!
And … ,
I have created a poster. Please view it on http://poster.4teachers.org/worksheet/view.php?id=166076
Very well thank you!!! J))

Sailing away 7th Week with Wallwisher

Hello e-Course mates
Namaste from cool Kathmandu!!!

I am done with this week's reading. It is again a great experience!!! I particularly like the idea of autonomy of students. The articles supply the ideas on how autonomy can be ensured in class despite of having many challenges.
Next thing that excited me more was Wallwisher or Padlet which is simply the best! It seems Padlet is so very convenient than Blogging!!!
Finally, the instructions for using a single computer in class are also very useful!

However, I am a bit worried about the project work. I wish to find a supportive partner!

Happy Reading,
Sindhu

Reflecting the 6th Week/I love Powerpoint

Hi Donna and Classmates

For long I had been very keen to know how we can manage large classes. I had seen several classes which would accommodate over 150 students though the place where I have been teaching has smaller ones.  On reading the main articles for this week I updated Keeping students engaged in large lecture classes, Making technology work for you, Getting groups to work wel(file:///F:/Webskills2013/week6/Large%20Classes.html).Except the second, I had been adopting other two, so I felt happy.

My next cup of tea was making interactive powerpoint though it was not new to me I had rarely used it in my class. Above all what surprised me the most was top 5 alternatives to power point ( http://www.readwriteweb.com/biz/2010/11/hate-powerpoint-here-are-5-web-based-alternatives.php) that I had never imagined. May be these tools are more applicable at the places where Microsoft Powerpoint is not available.

Frankly speaking, what influenced me the most was Interactive Lectures Summaries of 36 Formats (http://www.thiagi.com/interactive-lectures.html). This is very resourceful as it has very useful and easy activities that will help to manage large classes.

Reflection on 5th Week

Hello

This week I got many useful ideas on rubrics, alternative assessment, ProQuest and Project-based Learning. WebQuest  has appealed me most out of those.

I  created a rubric out there and this the link http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php?screen=ShowRubric&module=Rubistar&rubric_id=2282532&
I also built a WebQuest page (http://zunal.com/index-mywebquests.php) and got published. It is thrilling!!!

Coincidentally, one of my cousins is getting married this week. So it is a hectic one!

See you soon!
